574 Flashback: Retro Design in Contemporary Graphics

First time I saw this book in Melbourne, I just want to buy it straight away. But since I dont want to add more weight to my bag pack, and having thought that book stores in Sydney would have it was just a big mistake. Well, Published Art in Surry Hills got it but its $30 dollar more expensive from some reason. Kinokuniya in city for some reason just sent an order form to the publisher and will be available around June ?!? But thankfully, a friend had plan to visit Melbourne over the weekend. The Geometry section is truly inspirational, familiar names are featured in the book, such as Mario Hugo, iLL Studio, Emily Forgot, Playful etc. A really recommended design book !!

571 Cheekier Cheekiest Myspace

Just finished a myspace page for Cheekier Cheekiest, a dj duo from Jakarta, Indonesia. They want something simple, clean and monochromic. The main inspiration here would be their logo, and the result is this.

567 These Outlines Of Us

‘These Outlines Of Us’ is my latest project exploring different shapes, lines and words. For now the medium for this project is a black tote bag, but who knows what’s next. You can buy these limited edition tote bags in my shop. For now, 5 designs are available and hopefully more to come.

An Indonesian promoter based in Melbourne called Tripomatica kindly invited me to come and play for their event last weekend. It was an outdoor even, too bad the weather was not friendly enough. Anyways, they also asked me to design a t-shirt for them. And here it is …

549 The Yacht Club Poster

The people at AGWA need a poster for their upcoming ‘Yacht Club’ party. They asked Babekuhl to design it. Pat (one of the designer at Babekuhl) asked me to do the background for the poster. Came up with this wooden texture feels mixed with graph paper. The client dig this a lot and already asked us to design for the future event.

We thought as much, which is why DazedDigital.com have teamed up with super-sharp clothing label Firetrap, to give you the chance to design an album cover for excellent independent record label Full Time Hobby – home to awesome bands including Dazed faves White Denim and School of Seven Bells. We’re looking for original work from aspiring photographers, illustrators, typographers and artists – it’s up to you what you create and how you go about it, but it will need to be able to fit on a standard CD.
