379 Maserati Garage by Holger Schubert
Couple months ago, Maserati was having a garage design contest and results are out ! There were 2 categories, existing garage and concept garage. The winner for existing garage is Holger Schubert. It’s really a nice minimalist garage which become part of the house it self (especially the living room). Here’s info from Cool Hunting,
A beautiful car deserves a beautiful garage, and Holger Schubert’s minimalist 1200-square-foot carport for Maserati’s Design Driven competition is exactly that.
Overlooking western Los Angeles, Schubert’s winning design has a setting more akin to an art gallery than a garage. Accessed by a separate driveway bridge, the sustainable structure allows the car to remain the focal point of the airy elevated garage.
The white walls are insulated with natural cotton fiber, hosting large windows that allow for maximum daylight while the twilight hours offer the perfect setting for the car’s image to reflect on the walls. Electric screens are used on exterior walls for climate control purposes along with 47 solar panels on the roof. Boasting a small kitchen, library and living area, when housing a Maserati the garage becomes the epitome of luxury.
Schubert’s garage will be featured in the October issue of Architectural Digest, along with Chris Altman’s conceptual design, in which limestone and a reflection pool are used to highlight the car’s beauty. All 125 entries are viewable at Design Driven.

361 Burn Cottage by Mash Design
An entirely biodynamic winery in New Zealand. Mash wanted to create a unique brand that communicated the ‘hands on’ characteristics with the sometimes mystical methods of biodynamics. The founding father of biodynamics agriculture, Rudolf Steiner was heavily influenced by the writings of Johann Wolfgang Von Goethe. ‘The Green Snake and the Beautiful Lily’ is a fairy tale by Goethe published in 1795. This is a story about the combining the ‘ideal human being’ in everyone with ‘outer life experiences’, the two working in harmony. If this can be achieved then the human being would be a truly worthy existence. This was an inspirational story for Steiner and forms the basis of biodynamics.
‘The Green Snake and the Beautiful Lily’ was the inspiration Mash needed. The various parts of the story have been put together to create an illustrated collage that forms the basis of the Burn Cottage brand imagery used in packaging, promotion and stationery. The images shown here depict a poster that can also be broken down to individual business cards. The full sheets were printed with perforations that could then be torn apart.

348 Chromeo DJ-KiCKS
The wait is over…!K7 is very proud to present the next installment in the DJ-KiCKS series.
Chromeo, Chromeo wherefore art thou Chromeo?… Well honestly, it seems that Montreal’s multi-ethnic loverboys Dave One and Pee Thugg have been everywhere. They’ve already released two acclaimed albums: 2004’s She’s In Control and 2007’s Fancy Footwork. They’ve hit the dance floors and attacked the charts with classics such as “Needy Girl”, “Bonafied Lovin”, “You’re So Gangsta” and “Momma’s Boy”. They’ve provided exclusive remixes for the likes of Cut Copy, Feist and Vampire Weekend. But now, after spending the last couple of years jet setting and globe-trotting, there’s only one place you can find them: on the new upcoming DJ-KiCKS.
